ANNIVERSARY

20 stones, one for each year
These days mark 20 YEARS since I started this blog , IN SUMMER; twenty years since I started uploading my photographs to FLICKR; twenty years since I discovered that I loved taking photos and loved putting them together and including them in my posts.

My last ride before my fall - Sierra Nevada mountains
Twenty years since I broke my left humerus in a stupid fall off my bike, which sent me to sick leave for six months. I had to wait six months until the splint was removed, then I completed rehabilitation, until I was finally able to lift my left arm again—enough to dance sevillanas. And then I went back to work as a secondary school teacher, and I was able to ride my beloved bike again!

I even travelled to London with my splint!
It was tough being disabled, well, only slightly disabled for six months, but I had good help and the company of all the people who started reading my posts in EL VERANO and seeing my photos in my FLICKR gallery.

After all this time, after these twenty years, I now know that none of these things will make me famous, neither the photos nor the writing.

But they've helped me, they've kept me company, and for that I want to thank Ara, who introduced me to this world; Pedro, who has patiently put up with all the hours I've dedicated to these two projects, photos and texts; and you, who have followed my trail and occasionally left me a kind comment.

A few of my pics of these twenty years - I have got more!!
